Luigi ai Faraglioni
The Iacono family also run the Da Luigi ai Faraglioni bathing resort, establishment which occupies a unique position right at the foot of the Faraglioni of Capri. Here, the island’s legendary sea stacks frame a tiny little bay of intense blue water, in which it is, quite simply, a dream to swim.
Hotel la Certosella
Hotel La Certosella has been run by the Iacono family for generations. Built in 1880, the hotel is one of the oldest on the island of Capri.
Position
Once in the Bay of Marina Piccola, to the left of the square, where the bus-stop and taxi stand are located, one spies a large, hand-painted, blue sign which indicates the entrance to the Canzone del Mare bathing establishment.
At the end of an avenue similar to those of the most aristocratic of villas; bordered by low stone walls and shaded from the sun’s rays by beautifully scented coastal pine trees, the visitor to La Canzone del Mare is greeted by a truly magnificent scene.
From the panoramic terrace overlooking the resort’s attractive swimming pool, a unique view of the Faraglioni rocks awaits; a view which for centuries has inspired artists of international fame, and in recent years, has provided the setting for numerous films and glamorous advertising campaigns.
